Review-Nalini Singh: Kiss of Snow
Usually, when I am dying to read a book, I end up somewhat disappointed in the outcome. Today I am going to review Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh. This is part of her Psy/Changeling series.
Title: Kiss of Snow
Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Psy/Changelings
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Sensuality: HotBlurb: Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.
Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.
Then Sienna changes the rules-and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight…
A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home-and the alpha who is its heartbeat.
This book didn’t disappoint on any level. Ahhh, Hawke and Sienna, I have been waiting for this since Slave to Sensation, Sienna was only 16 in that book, but you could feel the connection between them even then.
Sienna is a Psy, she and what was left of her family, her two uncles, brother and cousin dropped off from the PsyNet when they were marked for termination. Sienna’s mother had committed suicide and their whole family were said to be unstable.
They went to SnowDancer changeling territory because although the adults didn’t expect to survive they had researched that changelings adore children and gambled that Toby and Marlee would at least have a chance of living.
That’s the background of how they came to be there, Sienna and Hawke (the leader of the Snow Dancers) had been butting heads ever since.
We have seen glimpses of their relationship in the books before this, especially with the ones based in the SnowDancers territory. These glimpses really added to people wanting them to have their own book.
Now it is here and wow, what a great read that was!!!!
Sienna is an X class Psy. Which is a fire class. She is Cardinal and the longest living one. You see, X class Psy are very rare and they also have a tendency to self combust. In fact the theory is if they hit critical mass they can take a continent with them when they go.
Hawke is still fighting his attraction to Sienna in the first part of this book, like he has been previously. He considers her too young and that he couldn’t offer her what she needed since his mate died when they were both children and wolves only mate once in their lifetime.
He gives up on that idea when he realizes if she can go out and fight for their clan she has the right to choose her own lover.
There is also a secondary romance in Kiss of Snow between Walker (Sienna’s uncle) and Lara (the Snow Dancers healer). I was kind of annoyed with this. I wouldn’t of minded in any other book, but I just wanted Hawke and Sienna!! I still gave this story a high rating, but it might of been an outstanding read if we hadn’t of spent so much time with Walker and Lara.
This is a really, really good story, the ending was climatic and at one stage you didn’t really know how they were going to come through this.
One thing I like about romances is that I know stuff will turn out okay in the end, but I don’t like predictable easy things happening, which didn’t happen here.
Hawke and Sienna are great together, which I knew they would be! This is a MUST READ book for any paranormal romance fan. I loved it.
Giving it 5 stars, best book for me this year……so far.

Seeing as you loved this story and I found it to be flawed, I’m going to guess that you don’t have a very extensive English education. Or you’re just a plot reader… It had it’s good points but it’s only worth 3.5 stars, not 5.
In your opinion it’s only worth 3.5 stars. Fine, I respect that. But I’m not a plot reader I’m a character reader, I loved the characters. I also think my English education is reasonably extensive. There is no need for rudeness. While I don’t mind a healthy discussion/disagreement with what I rate a book, I won’t tolerate personal attacks which your comment comes very close to being.
